Sports Massage

Sports massage involves the  manipulation of soft tissue to prevent and treat soft tissue injuries and muscle imbalances. Sports massage  incorporates advanced stretching techniques, deep frictions, neuromuscular and muscle energy techniques to remove adhesions, scar tissue and realign muscle fibers.

This type of massage along with an appropriate rehabilitation programme restores muscles to optimum working order thus enhancing athletic and general body performance.

Regular sports massage is also an essential part of sports training program to prevent injuries, enhance & maintain muscle performance and speed up recovery.

Deep Tissue / Remedial Massage

A specialized, remedial / deep tissue massage is used to treat, muscle problems, occupational disorders old injuries and general aches & pains. Remedial/ deep tissue massage is excellent in correcting dysfunctional muscles thus improving range of movement, posture & mobility.

This type of massage is highly effective in treating tight or short muscles, acute and chronic muscle conditions. This massage uses deep preesue with slower strokes and positional release techniques  to release tension and alleviate pain in the muscles.

Neuromuscular technique, frictions & deep stroking are also incorporated in the treatment  to help loosen muscle fibers, remove scar tissue, adhesions & fibrous tissue which might be present as a result of an injury or trauma.

 Therapeutic / Relaxation Massage

Physical or emotional stress, injury or poor posture can affect the muscular-skeletal system causing imbalances leading to pain or improper functioning. This treatment incorporates gentle manipulation of soft tissue along with various massage techniques to ease muscle tension and restore balance, which enhances the body’s ability to heal itself.

A perfect tonic to relax, ease tension, loosen muscles, improve circulation, stimulate the immune, lymphatic and nervous systems to rebalance and harmonize the body & mind, to promote and enhance general state of well-being.

Injury Treatment & Rehabilitation

Acombination of sports massage and ultrasound waves are used in treating acute and chronic injuries. The use of Ultra-high frequency sound waves brings about changes in injured and damaged tissue at a cellular level: to reduce pain, inflammation, muscle spasms and induce tissue repair.

A pain free treatment for Acute & Chronic conditions involving ligaments, tendons, muscles and joints. (Injuries, Sprains, Strains, RSI, Tendonitis ….etc)

 Trigger Point Massage

Combined positioning and specific finger or thumb pressure into trigger/tender points in muscle and connective tissue, to reduce the hypersensitivity, muscle spasms and referred pain patterns that characterize the point. Left untreated, such trigger/tender points often lead to restricted and painful movement of entire body regions.

Trigger point therapy is often combined with sports, remedial, and deep tissue massage treatments to treat active trigger points.

 Lymph Drainage Massage

Manual Lymph Drainage is an advanced form of massage that aims to stimulate the lymphatic system to remove congestion and stagnation from within the body; it activates the circulation of the tissues and stimulates the immune and parasympathetic nervous systems. This serves to detoxify the body, regenerate tissue and has many other health benefits such as the relief from pain, increased relaxation, relief from inflammation and it has anti-aging effects.

Symptoms that are said to respond well to MLD are a weakened immune system, chronic congestion (sinus etc), rheumatoid arthritis and the healing of wounds, burns and scars. MLD is also often incorporated into the treatment and control of Lymphoedema.

The skin is massaged lightly and rhythmically in the natural direction of lymph flow the aim is to stretch the superficial lymphatic vessels which lie just beneath the skin.

For a healthy body the Lymphatic system must efficiently eliminate waste in order to prevent illness. If the lymphatic system is sluggish, it affects many other functions within the body, when working properly the lymph stems drains fluids, detoxifies, regenerates tissues, filters out toxins and helps to maintain a healthy immune system.
